March 2019 | A Note from My Journal | Lehigh Valley Wedding Photographer

Personal

I can’t believe how quickly this past month went! I absolutely love going through each month’s images because inevitably, there’s something I’ve forgotten that we did. I am so thankful to have these memories captured for our family. Even now, the girls enjoy sitting down and flipping through our family album of the images I’ve captured of our time together. I know, as time goes on, that these photographs will become even more precious as our children grow and change.

March was a month full of ups and downs. This month was a hard one for us on a personal level. We got unexpected news that my grandmother has ovarian cancer and after having a big surgery last month, she will start her chemo treatments within the next week. Those of you who are reading this who are prayer warriors, we ask that you lift her and our family up at this time. As a Christian, I wholeheartedly believe that God hears our prayers and knows the desires of our hearts. He is with us always; in our times of struggle and in times where we are prospering. I ask that those of you who are also strong in your faith to please pray for healing, strength, and courage as we all begin this journey with her.

“If you will humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, in His good time He will lift you up. Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you. “ – 1 Peter 5:6-7

Business-wise, I officially began my wedding season by serving as an associate shooter for my friend Jeanie. Many of you already know that I am currently enrolled in a 12-month long business course and have made the conscious decision to limit my 2019 projects.

I made this choice to ensure that my family remains my priority and to ensure I have the proper amount of time to dedicate to my studies. All in all, I know that this is ultimately most beneficial not only to myself, but also to my current and future clients. So, while I am decidedly not serving as many clients of my own this year, I am still doing what I love by associate shooting for others while being very calculated to make sure I don’t take on more than I can handle. It’s a balancing act, but so far, it’s working!

All of that said, I am still actively shooting and booking smaller projects for 2019. I am actively booking 2020 wedding clients and am thrilled to share that I am almost completely booked for next year! We also received exciting news that my work is due to be featured in five upcoming publications: Layers of Luxe, Party Style Magazine, A Princess Inspired, Tacari Weddings and Becoming One. I am so proud of the work we are doing to capture the heartfelt memories of our clients and are so appreciative of the other vendors who help us get here.

March was full of activity for our little family. Each day passes with a blur and I am so thankful that I have these memories to document our story Here’s a few highlights of what I documented from this month:

  • Playtime in the snow!

  • Our first trip of 2019 to the playground

  • We did a lot of banana bread baking! (Apparently, I need to stop buying so many bananas!)

  • We’re on the hunt for some land and found a really cool tree-lined lane on one of our scouting trips. I love taking drives on Sundays after church!

  • We had lots of family time this month, which included a trip to The Works in Wyomissing and a visit to see my grandmother in Delaware.

  • We also found the CUTEST little ice cream parlor and market nearby. The mocha chip ice cream was out of this world! If you’re from the Lehigh Valley area, you’ve got to check out The Nesting Box Market and Creamery in Kempton!

  • Finally, we welcomed four new chicks to our flock. I’ve been so busy that I haven’t gotten a chance to take any photographs of them, but that will be something to look forward to for next month!

Enjoy this little peek into our lives!

Much love,

A
