Laura and Matthew got married this past weekend at the gorgeous Blue Mountain Resort in Palmerton, Pennsylvania.
The day began with Getting Ready portraits of both the bride and the groom. Laura and Matt rented an amazing mountain home just a short ride from Blue Mountain Resort where Laura and her bridesmaids spent the morning getting prepared for the big day. It was so fun being in the midst of all the excitement of the morning hustle and bustle as the ladies got their hair and makeup done. At the same time, my associate photographer, Erin, spent the morning with the groom and groomsmen capturing all of the action happening at the hotel.
On their wedding day, a Nor’Easter came through our area and brought lots of rain and high winds. Laura was very hopeful that we would be able to have outdoor portrait time, so we began portraits with their First Look on a patio overlook just off of the Vista Ballroom. It was definitely windy and cold; but Laura and Matt were just so present during this moment that I don’t think they even noticed!
After Laura and Matt shared a private moment for their First Look, we moved into their bride and groom portraits at the original ceremony site overlooking the valley and views below. Wait until you see how amazing they look! They were such troopers through the cold, drizzling rain and winds that were happening during portrait time—I was SO impressed with them!
Due to the weather conditions, the venue staff set up a ceremony site within the Alpine Ballroom at Blue Mountain Resort. It’s so wonderful when a venue has a solid plan for when Mother Nature isn’t cooperative! Story by Design Events did a beautiful job ensuring the space looked stunning with twinkle lights, white lanterns, gorgeous florals, and gold accents throughout.
Laura and Matt read vows they had prepared themselves, sharing heartfelt and sweet sentiments about their relationship, love for one another, and plans for their future together. There wasn’t a dry eye in the room!
The reception kicked off with some epic entrances by Matt and Laura’s bridal party of 15 which was followed by Matt and Laura’s first dance as husband and wife. Just before everyone was finished with their dinner, we stole Matt and Laura for an evening portrait in the rain. The portraits captured during this time are some of my favorites of the season!
After we came inside, the party really began with lots of dancing, singing, and even an Eagles chant!
Laura and Matt, it was such a pleasure serving you two on your wedding day. Thank you for trusting us to capture these memories you’ll cherish always. Many blessings to you both as you begin your life together! I hope you enjoy viewing some of my favorites from your beautiful wedding day!
